Chapter 289: Going All Out!

Li Yun had felt it clearly in that clash.

That spear strike had not relied solely on superior cultivation. It had carried something deeper and far more dangerous.

50% Spear Intent.

That level of understanding transformed a weapon from sharpened metal into a true law of killing.

No wonder Xian Li was ranked thirty-third on the Hidden Dragon Ranking. No wonder rumors claimed his battle power had already neared the top twenty.

Across the arena, Xian Li rested the black spear casually at his side. His expression remained cold, but his gaze had grown more focused.

“You endured that strike,” he said in a low voice. “Your body is stronger than I expected.”

Li Yun slowly rolled his shoulder once, dispersing the last traces of force lingering in his arm. Then he smiled faintly.

“Forcing me back with a single strike,” he said calmly. “You are the first person to do that in a long time.”

The moment those words ended, his aura exploded.

Wind came first.

Forty percent Wind Intent spread from Li Yun’s body like a raging tempest. Robes whipped violently, banners snapped in the air, and broken debris across the summit was lifted from the ground and sent spinning upward.

Then came fire.

Forty percent Flame Intent erupted around him in scorching waves. The atmosphere twisted beneath the sudden heat, and nearby disciples retreated hurriedly as sweat instantly formed across their skin.

Lightning, already active, surged even more violently.

Forty percent Lightning Intent roared through the Heavenly Lightning Battle Armor, causing the blue armor to shine brighter and become even more fearsome.

Then came the final force.

Sword Intent.

A terrifying sharpness burst from Li Yun like a heavenly blade leaving its sheath. Fifty percent Sword Intent spread across the battlefield without restraint.

The moment that pressure descended, countless swords carried by surrounding disciples began to tremble violently inside their sheaths. Some even released clear sword cries on their own, as though acknowledging a higher will.

Shock spread through every pavilion.

Han Li’s expression froze entirely. Han Xue covered her mouth in disbelief. Shi Xing and Qin Ling both stared at Li Yun with widened eyes. Even the elders aboard the flying boat narrowed their gazes sharply.

Yan Luo’s previously cold expression finally changed.

At the center of the ruined arena, Li Yun stood beneath surging wind, flame, and lightning while invisible Sword Intent spread around him like the domain of a sovereign. The combined pressure was so immense that the summit itself seemed to groan beneath it.

Across from him, Xian Li’s fierce expression slowly turned grave. For the first time since descending from the flying boat, he tightened his grip on the spear.

Li Yun slowly drew his sword and pointed it toward Xian Li. The blade reflected flashes of lightning from the armor surrounding him, while waves of wind and heat rolled outward from his body in endless surges.

His gaze remained calm and steady, yet within that calmness rested unquestionable dominance. It was the gaze of a man who had already accepted victory as inevitable.

“Now,” Li Yun said, his voice carrying clearly across the mountain peak and echoing through every pavilion, “let us begin properly.”

The instant those words fell, both figures vanished from where they stood.

A violent explosion erupted at the center of the arena as sword and spear collided for the first true time. The impact sent a ring of force roaring outward, shattering already fractured stone and forcing nearby disciples to retreat in alarm. Broken debris flew into the air while dust surged upward like a storm cloud.

Before the dust had even settled, the sounds of battle were already raging within it. Metal clashed against metal again and again, each collision shaking the summit and sending sparks, lightning, and spear qi across the battlefield.

Li Yun’s sword moved like a heavenly storm unleashed upon the earth. Lightning raced along the blade, flames coiled around its edge, and every slash carried the swiftness of raging wind. His movements were smooth, efficient, and increasingly oppressive with every exchange.

Xian Li’s black spear was no less terrifying. It screamed through the air like a demonic dragon breaking free of its chains. Each thrust carried immense pressure and fifty percent Spear Intent, turning every motion into something capable of piercing mountains and tearing through steel.

The two exchanged dozens of blows in only a few breaths. To many weaker disciples, they had already become little more than flashing shadows crossing the ruined arena.

“He can actually match Spear Demon head-on!”

“This Li Yun is too monstrous!”

Gasps rose across Heaven Dew Peak. Many had expected Li Yun to put up a fight, but few imagined he could meet the Spear Demon head-on without being suppressed immediately.

Han Li’s breathing became uneven, while Han Xue stared without blinking, fearful that looking away for even a moment would make her miss something historic. Even Yan Luo aboard the flying boat had become fully attentive.

Suddenly, Xian Li spun the spear with both hands and unleashed a killing technique.

“Boundless Palace Art, Seven Void Piercing Shadows!”

The spear split into seven afterimages, every thrust containing lethal force. All seven attacks came from different angles at once, sealing every possible route of retreat around Li Yun.

Yet Li Yun did not retreat. He stepped forward instead, his eyes burning with battle intent.

“Thunderflame Gale Sword Art, First Form… Gale Ignition!”

Wind, flame, and lightning surged together as his sword swept outward in a blazing arc. Three spear shadows were destroyed instantly. At the same time, Li Yun twisted through the remaining attacks with movements enhanced by the Heavenly Lightning Codex, slipping through impossible gaps with frightening precision.

The surviving spear shadows struck the ground behind him and carved enormous trenches through the arena floor. Xian Li’s eyes narrowed sharply. He had expected retreat, but Li Yun had chosen advance.

Without hesitation, Xian Li stomped the ground. A dark bronze light spread across his skin, hardening flesh and swelling muscle with explosive force.

“Sixth Tier Secret Art, Iron Sovereign Body!”

His body became like forged metal, and then the spear descended from above with crushing power.

“Mountain Splitting Tyrant Descent!”

Li Yun raised his sword horizontally to block. The impact detonated like thunder. He was driven backward several steps as cracks spread beneath his feet, and even the sword in his hand trembled from the force.
