“I’m sorry we just had an attack last night… Jacob’s dead…” she whispered and there was silence on both ends.

Hugo’s heart softened at her vulnerable state, and then he felt irked at how she was showing it to another person instead.

So this was what intense jealousy felt like. It was the first time he encountered it, and he hated every bit of it.

Then it seemed another man was talking through the phone and he almost lost it.

“Kaize? I killed them all. It’s fine, I’m very strong…”

“I’m taking care of his mother…” she mumbled, “I miss you, too.”

Hugo finally couldn’t sit still and sat up, placing his strong legs beside hers, and letting her back rest flush on his strong abdominal muscles.

Then he rudely took the phone and, adding in his characteristic slur and velvety tone, began to speak to the person on the other line.”She’ll be fine. She’s strong, I am also strong. No need to worry, Kaize.”

There was a moment of silence on the other line, before a bellow rang. “HUGO?! Why are you there?!”

Khalifa tilted her head to look up at him. Hugo ignored the girl’s glare. He just found it adorable, especially with her position of being naked between his arms.

“What do you think?” He asked back, purposely being mysterious.

This made the girl frown even deeper and turned to get the phone from him.

Hugo avoided it by scooting a bit farther deeper into the bed. His free hand pulled her to him, so she got a bit imbalanced and her face bumped his well-shaped chest instead.

He liked her there very much. He grinned, listening to the other person with a smile.

“What did you do?!” Kaize asked, and Hugo caressed her sexy thigh, rubbing his warm hands along her beautiful legs.

“How dare you hide such a good specimen from me?” He said, purposely slurring his voice which also annoyed the woman on him.

“Stop making him angry.” She pouted, crawling above him and trying to take the phone.
