Chapter 255: Chapter-255

She had already made her decision about how to handle this situation. She wasn’t going to just passively suffer as a servant, allowing herself to be beaten or worse without fighting back.

She’d already planned it out: If this old man dared to make a direct move on her, she would break his manhood for life, making absolutely certain he would never be able to assault anyone ever again.

She’d done worse things in previous missions. One more “accident” wouldn’t trouble her conscience at all.

But who would have thought that the crazy Maya would literally escalate the situation and make everything even more complicated and dangerous?

—

’’[The Night Attack]’’

It was late at night. Heena had just finished all her evening work—cooking dinner, serving the family, cleaning the kitchen, washing all the dishes that Maya had deliberately multiplied again, and putting everything away properly.

She was exhausted, sweaty, and smelled like cooking oil and smoke.

She returned to her small servant’s room with the intention of quickly changing her clothes before collapsing into sleep.

As she entered the dark room, she immediately lit the small oil lamp she kept on the table beside the door—the only source of light in the tiny space.

The room was barely large enough for a sleeping mat, a small table, and a wooden chest where she kept her few belongings.

She began removing her outer layer of clothing—the dirty, sweat-soaked work clothes that reeked of kitchen labor.

Her kick connected solidly with bone. The person behind her let out a muffled grunt of pain.

Before he could recover, she slammed her elbow backward into where his chest should be—

’THUD.’

She felt the impact, heard the wheeze as air was driven from his lungs.

And then, in one swift, practiced motion, she grabbed the arm that had been reaching for her, ducked low, used his forward momentum against him, and executed a perfect shoulder throw—

’CRASH.’

She slammed the intruder down onto the ground with tremendous force, using her full body weight and leveraging his own mass against him.

The person hit the floor with a sickening thud that shook the whole room.

Heena immediately pressed her advantage, dropping her knee onto the person’s chest to pin him down while her hands went to his throat.

“Who are you?!” she hissed in the darkness. “Who sent you?!”

The man was gasping for air, clearly winded from the throw and the knee compressing his chest.

He wheezed out in a raspy voice: “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about… I just… I just came to…”

Heena pressed harder on his throat—not enough to kill, but enough to make breathing very difficult.

“Don’t lie to me. Someone sent you here. Who was it? TALK!”

The man struggled weakly, but Heena had positioned herself perfectly. Even though he was larger and heavier than her, she had leverage and technique on her side.

In the darkness, she couldn’t see his face clearly, but she could smell alcohol on his breath—strong, cheap liquor.

’A drunk? Or someone pretending to be drunk to have an excuse?’

She shifted her weight, pressing her forearm across his throat now, and demanded again: “Last chance. Who sent you? Was it the Master? The Mistress? WHO?!”

The man coughed and finally gasped out: “No one… sent me… I just… saw you working… thought you were… pretty…”

’Lies. Complete lies.’

Heena’s eyes had adjusted somewhat to the darkness now, and she could make out a vague shape of the person beneath her.

His build, his clothing, even his voice seemed somehow familiar—

And then it clicked.

“You,” she said with cold realization. “You’re that driver. The one the Mistress tried to set me up with for marriage. Driver Li.”

The man went very still beneath her, which was as good as a confession.

Heena’s mind raced through the implications.

’The Mistress tried to marry me off to this drunk. I rejected it by claiming to be barren. He was furious and refused. But now he’s here, in my room, in the dark, trying to assault me?’

’This isn’t random. This is planned.’

She understood immediately.

“The Mistress sent you, didn’t she?” Heena said quietly, her voice deadly calm. “She paid you or promised you something. The plan was for you to assault me, ruin my reputation, force me into a position where I’d HAVE to marry you or be thrown out as ’damaged goods.’ Am I right?”

The man tried to shake his head, but Heena pressed harder on his throat.

“Don’t bother denying it. This is too convenient to be coincidence. The Mistress wants me gone from this household because she thinks the Master is looking at me. So she arranged for you to come here tonight and compromise me.”

She leaned closer, her voice becoming ice-cold.

“But you made one critical mistake: you assumed I was just a weak, helpless servant girl who would freeze in fear or submit quietly. You didn’t expect me to fight back.”

Driver Li was wheezing now, his hands weakly trying to push her off, but he had no leverage and no strength left after that brutal throw.

Heena made a decision.

She couldn’t just let him go—he’d immediately run to the Mistress or the Master and claim SHE had attacked HIM. Her word as a servant would mean nothing against his.

And she couldn’t kill him outright—that would cause even more problems, and she’d definitely be executed for murdering a household employee regardless of the circumstances.

She needed a different solution.

“Listen carefully,” she hissed. “I’m going to let you breathe. If you scream or try to call for help, I will crush your throat completely before anyone can arrive. Do you understand?”

The man managed a weak nod.

Heena eased the pressure slightly—enough for him to breathe but not enough for him to have any chance of escaping or fighting back.

“Here’s what’s going to happen,” she said coldly. “You’re going to leave this room quietly. You’re going to go back to whoever sent you and tell them you couldn’t go through with it. That you were too drunk, or you lost your nerve, or whatever excuse you want to make.”

She pressed down again slightly.

“And if you ever come near me again, if you ever tell anyone what really happened here tonight, I will make sure that the ’accident’ you suffer is far worse than what just happened. I know exactly how to make a man’s death look like natural causes or drunken misfortune. Do you believe me?”

The terror in his ragged breathing told her he absolutely believed her.

“Good. Now get out.”

She released him and stepped back quickly, positioning herself between him and the door so he couldn’t try to trap her.

Driver Li scrambled to his feet, coughing and gasping, clearly in pain from the kick, the elbow strike, and the brutal throw.

He stumbled toward the door, fumbling with the latch.

Just before he left, Heena added quietly: “And Driver Li? Tell the Mistress her plan failed. Tell her I’m not as easy to dispose of as she thought.”

The man fled into the night without responding, his footsteps uneven and pained.
