Chapter 1334: Chapter 1334: Gossip in the Company Chapter 1334: Chapter 1334: Gossip in the Company She hadn’t planned to tell Enna Clark anyway, since telling her would be equivalent to offending the colleague who deliberately spread the rumor.

But she heard through the grapevine that Enna truly was a parachuted appointment to the company. As for whose influence it was, that was still uncertain.

At the very least, it could be confirmed that Enna Clark’s background was not simple.

It was then that Lina decided to take a risk, weighing the difference between offending an ordinary colleague and having someone with a powerful background owing her a favor–anyone with eyes could see which was more worthwhile.

Moreover, she didn’t like people who spread rumors in the first place.

It’s just a crush on Director Howard, right?

We are all colleagues from the same company, and even from the same department; if you like him, just compete fairly. What’s the point of these underhanded maneuvers?

If you can go to such lengths over a man, what could you resort to in a work conflict in the future?

“The Head of HR is already over fifty, and has a granddaughter. Although only our department knows about this rumor now, if it continues to spread, it will affect you negatively. Enna, why don’t you talk to the Director, let her step in and clear this up?”

The Director obviously has feelings for Enna Clark, and if Enna asks the Director for help, it will definitely bring the two of them closer. Plus, once the Director investigates and finds out who’s behind the rumor-mongering, someone is certainly going to be hopping mad.

Though Lina’s suggestion was self-serving, it was indeed one of the best ways to handle the situation.

Enna Clark pressed her lips together, declining the offer, “I know.”

“Uh, you’re not going to explain?”

Lina was surprised to see her leaving.

Enna Clark stopped in her tracks, turned her head back, “I have a solution, thank you.”

“No, no need to thank me,” Lina said, taken aback by her composed and cool demeanor, unsure of what her solution was.

After she finished speaking, she watched as Enna Clark entered the company.

…

Enna Clark was now suppressing a burst of anger, but her face did not betray her emotions.

Just like yesterday.

The moment she walked into the Planning Department, the groups of chatting coworkers scattered with a bang, and people started to glance in her direction.

Though those glances were discreet, Enna still felt them.

She gracefully set down her bag, gracefully opened her laptop, but instead of sitting down, she walked toward Kingston Howard’s office.

It was still 15 minutes before work started, and most of the staff had already arrived.

Due to the rumors of the past few days, many people watched Enna Clark with curious eyes. When they saw her heading to the Director’s Office so early in the morning, someone muttered under their breath, “Going to the Director so early, trying to hook up with our Director, keeping an eye on the pot while eating from the bowl–this woman has no shame.”

Although others didn’t join in, they couldn’t help but think in that direction.

Only Luna seemed agitated at her desk, as if Enna’s entry to the Director’s Office was causing her unease.

The person sitting next to her knew what was making her anxious, pulled her arm, and said with a smile, “Don’t worry. Haven’t you been getting along well with the Director recently? He must have heard about her by now; he definitely won’t be interested in her. You don’t need to worry too much.”

It went without saying who “she” was.

Luna, however, was not comforted, but bit her red lips even harder, growing more irritable.
